METALBOT grants you the right to use this website (WWW.METALBOT.ORG) and its services subject to the terms and conditions of use (WWW.METALBOT.ORG/TERMS) below...
1 - Open Source License
1.1 We believe in the power of Open Source. To a). protect the open environment and b). encourage the free sharing of ideas all information released through 'The Metalbot Project' and www.metalbot.org website is subject to a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 License unless otherwise stated.
2 - Civility is paramount
2.1 Always treat others with the utmost respect, kindness and generosity. Every 'expert' was at one point completely new to the subject and had no previous experience. They were helped and encouraged by others. Pay the favor forward by patiently helping the next generation of Newbies.
2.2 Remember the Golden Rule: Treat others the same way you want to be treated, be they other members, moderators or the owners. If you're creating a hostile or unpleasant environment you can expect a warning. If that warning is ignored and a hostile attitude is maintained your account will be suspended.
3 - No politics, militarization or religion.
3.1 Metalbot.org is not the place to discuss your views on military uses for 3D Printing, any nation's foreign policies, your feelings about war, or anything else that is inclined to turn into a political debate. It is our experience that the rules for good, open conversation -- no discussion of politics and religion -- apply to online communities. Metalbot was created to bring people together, discussions centering around politics or religion tend to polarize and drive people apart (there are plenty of other places online that are better equipped to discuss those topics).
4 - Forum use and blog posts
4.1 The Discussion Forum is for the open sharing ideas. We prefer to do all of our support in the public eye so that everyone can follow along. If you have a problem please describe your particular setup completely, preferably with a photograph, descriptive title and relevant keywords so that others can find the discussion later. This is a key part of phase one of the Metalbot Project - building a knowledge base.
4.2 Ask questions in the discussion forum not via blog posts. Submitted blog posts that are just questions and should have been posted in the discussion forum will not be approved. The moderators may or may not message you with the text so you can repost in the right area. To avoid losing your post and losing time, put it in the right place from the start.
4.3 Blog posts are for informative topics of broad interest to the community. They must start with a picture or video, so the image appears on the front page on the site and gives a sense of the topic as well as inviting people to click for more. Videos should be embedded using the provided editor. The post should also include links where appropriate. Don't make people do a Google search for what you're talking about if you can provide a link.
5 - Legal use only
5.1 The discussion of illegal or harmful uses for 3D Metal Printing will NOT be tolerated. Positive and responsible use of this technology is at the core of our culture. That means that it is your duty to conform with all laws and local customs that apply in your own country. In addition, we feel that part of our responsibility is to help the relevant authorities understand what is possible with amateur 3D Metal Printers, so that they can make better-informed policies and laws. We encourage all relevant regulators, defense agencies and law enforcement agencies to become members here and even participate to help them do that. In addition, if we see any attempted discussion regarding uses that we feel could be potentially illegal or intended to cause harm, we will bring it to the attention to the relevant authorities, and will fully comply with any and all legal request they make for information about users (although we don't know much that isn't public).
5.2 By accessing this website, participating in the project and/or using our services you consent to these Terms and Conditions and to the exclusive jurisdiction of the European, UK and USA courts in all disputes arising out of such access.
5.3 If any of these terms are deemed invalid or unenforceable for any reason (including, but not limited to the exclusions and limitations set out above), then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be severed from these terms and the remaining terms will continue to apply.
6 - Privacy
6.1 Your privacy is protected, up to a point: This is a social network, so everything you write and post here is public, with certain exceptions: 1) Your private messages are private. Administrators are unable to see them, nor can anyone else other than the recipient. Members must not make private messages public without the explicit permission of everyone involved. 2) Your IP address is private and can be seen by administrators.
7 - Etiquette old bean
7.1 Do not type in ALL CAPS. It's considered SHOUTING. Posts in all caps will be deleted by the moderators.
7.2 Absolutely no personal attacks. It's fine to disagree, but never okay to criticize another member personally. This behavior will be dealt with swiftly.
8 - Website
8.1 All Metalbot Website services are available solely for individuals who are 13 years of age or older. By accessing or using this Website (www.metalbot.org) you represent that you are at least 13 years old.
8.2 We will not be liable if for any reason this Website is unavailable at any time or for any period. From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts or all of this Website for updates and general website maintenance.
9 - Share... and often
9.1 Although we are not limited to open source projects, the ones that tend to get the most participation tend to be open source. Don't wait until your design or code is "finished" -- post it as it is, and you may find that others will help you finish it faster! The best way to contribute is with your creativity -- we love data, code, printer designs, photos of your projects, videos of your work and build logs. Post early and often! It will pay off.

10.1 Metalbot reserves the right to refuse Donation funds where necessary.
